"Melancholy Misfits" is an album that captures a period in the Tambourelli & Her SuperTrips expeirence when times had become tough. The broken fretboard located at the center of the album artwork comes from a guitar that the SuperTrips smashed in a passionate swell of emotion, and symbolizes a climactic moment of frusteration when the band's vision was forced to dramatically shift. Shocked by the news that guitarist and fellow SuperTrip, Corey Bennett, would have to postpone his involvment in the Tambourelli & Her SuperTrips project, the band continued on in his absence. As forlorn as this left the remaining members hope was restored in the form of, keyboardist, Jake Hyland when he signed on as the latest addition to the Tambourelli Crew! Although all four songs were written before Jake's invovlment his contributions on Keyboard and Synth are stunningly awe-inspiring and flawlessly integral. This has brought entirely new dynamics to the group's genre and sound while holding true to the band's rock foundation. The completion of this record represents the acceptance of unfortunate cirucumstanes in the past, and the recognition of the ability to learn from those misfortunes in the present moment to privide for a more hopeful future.
